Frugal Shopping to Help Support Breast Cancer Research

I pride myself on being a frugal shopper. I combine clearance and sales with coupons as often as I can. I do everything in my power to make my money stretch farther so that I can do more things for my family, especially my kids.

The one person I don't put first is myself. If I need something but I see something that the kids might like, want or need... I always buy it and put my wants and needs on the back burner for another day. It's a "mom" thing!

I've been wanting a pair of Skechers Shape Ups for over a year now, possibly even almost two years. I've tried them on several different times. I've talked to several different people that have them. They all love them and I've not heard anything negative about them. The fact that they cost $110 is the reason that I had never bought a pair. I could buy so much stuff for my kids with $110, LOL!

Last week I was shopping at Kohls and noticed that they had NEW Skechers Shape Ups to help support Breast Cancer Research. They were cute, pink and had a little touch of sparkle. I also noticed that they were on sale for $90, that's $20 off. Plus, for each pair sold, $10 will be donated to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

Still, I didn't buy them.

Then, yesterday I got a coupon in the mail from Kohl's for 20% off my entire purchase. In addition, for every $50 spent yoou got $10 in Kohl's cash. Hmmm, that's a great savings that I could use on something that I've been wanting for a very long time.

I did something today that I haven't done in a very long time. I splurged and bought something for myself! That's right, I bought myself a pair of pink limited edition Skechers Shape Ups.

I saved money and I helped support a wonderful cause! What was the last thing you bought for yourself?

  1. Congratulations and a big thank you too, since my wife is a survivor and it's people just like you that supported the research that saved her six years ago.
