I just donated 13 inches of hair to Locks of Love. I've had long hair for as long as I can remember. However, every couple of years I get a new cut and donate my hair to those who need it more than I do. My husband LOVES long hair, so I try to keep him happy as well. But, there are just some things that have to be done...
I absolutely LOVE my new look! I got a new cut, new style and some highlights for a new color! I've had so many people that have known me for years take double takes! LOL!
I shocked a LOT of people with this makeover!

Our daughter is 7 1/2 years old and is begging to have her hair cut and donated as well. Daddy is having a difficult time saying yes to her request. I think she would look adorable with a short cut. If it were only up to me, she would have had a short haircut a long time ago! So, we shall see what happens. I'll be sure to keep your posted!
**It is estimated that 80% of all donations come from children who wish to help other children**
Have you ever donated your hair to Locks of Love?
Locks of Love is a public non-profit organization that provides hairpieces to financially disadvantaged children under age 21 suffering from long-term medical hair loss from any diagnosis. They meet a unique need for children by using donated hair to create the highest quality hair prosthetics. Most of the children helped by Locks of Love have lost their hair due to a medical condition called alopecia areata, which has no known cause or cure. The prostheses we provide help to restore their self-esteem and their confidence, enabling them to face the world and their peers.
This is the second post today that I read about someone donating, I am totally inspired to do it! that is an awesome transformation! I adore your new look! Can you have colour treated hair and donate still?
ReplyDeleteThank you! It's a wonderful feeling to be able to donate to such a great cause!
ReplyDeleteColor treated hair CAN be donated!
I wish I had the patience to grow my hair that long but I HATE LONG HAIR! I don't care if my hubby liked long hair, I would still cut it short. Thankfully he doesn't have a preference.
ReplyDeleteFollowing from the hop. Locks of Love is a terrific cause and I'm glad you did it!
ReplyDeleteBest wishes,
Clayton
