My daughter absolutely LOVES Build-A-Bear Workshop! If she had her way, we would go there every week and stuff a new best friend. We have gone to a few birthday parties there, on a couple "just because" occasions and my daughter even had her 3rd birthday party at Build-A-Bear Workshop!

There is something special about being able to create your very own friend. Friends are a very important part of your life... FRIENDS COUNT!
A friend is there for you no matter what - to pick you up when you fall down, to cheer you up when you're feeling blue and to share your happiness with.
My daughter found one of her best-friends by accident...
I remember the day, September 4th 2007. It was my son's first day of 1st grade and he would be in school all day long for the very first time. It was also my daughter's first day of swimming lessons. We normally put her in morning dance class, but it conflicted with swim lessons, so we put her in the evening dance class. Which made for a super busy Tuesday.
At swim lessons, there were 3 other children in my daughter's class: Annika, Makenna and Sharea. All little girls within a few months of one another in age. Of course, on the first day of class you pay more attention to your child in the water than you do to the other parents.
That same evening at dance class who do we see? Annika and her mom, we recognized each other from swim lessons and thought it was funny that the girls were also signed up for the same dance class. We started talking and hit things off.
The next week, swim lessons and dance class and then we set up a playdate at McDonald's for the girls! The girls had a blast, it was wonderful to wtch them play and talk together. We did the swim lessons and then met for lunch for the next few weeks.
A few months later, the girls were BEST FRIENDS and didn't stop talking about each other! Now, both of our families get together on a regular basis for BBQ's, luncheons, park play time and SO much more! We do so much together and it's fantastic.
We were talking the other day about how we met. If I would have decided to keep my daughter in morning dance class, it's possible that we would never have met! And even funnier, we live less than a mile away from one another and had never seen each other before that first day of swimming lessons.
