Fighting Hunger Together

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of The Walmart Foundation for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.
Imagine what it must feel like not knowing when you will be able to eat your next meal, or where it is going to come from.  It breaks my heart knowing that hunger affects more than 50 million Americans, many of them children!

As someone who donates to our local food bank during the holiday season, it is important to remember that those struggling are still hungry, and in need of help after the holidays have passed as well.  Their hunger does not stop once the holiday season has passed, it is a daily struggle.

To help ease the Spring hunger gap, Walmart is working together with Feeding America and four of the most recognized food brands in America - ConAgra, General Mills, Kraft and Kellogg's - in a nationwide Fighting Hunger Together initiative!

You can help too, simply by voting for a community in need.  Between April 9th and April 30th Walmart will be hosting a Facebook campaign where you can Vote to fight spring hunger with Walmart, among the 200 communities with the highest unemployment rate as determined by a Department of Labor Report .
Walmart will donate a total of $2 million to the 21 communities receiving the most support: $1 million to the winner and $50,000 each to the 20 runners-up.  As much as I wish I could vote for everyone, I will be voting for Bend, Oregon.  The reason for my vote, we have a personal connection with the area.

You can also help by purchasing select items in-store between April 9th and April 30th.  For each item purchased, meals will be donated to help end childhood hunger.
Together we can make a difference!
