Back to Sleep: Safe Sleep Tips for Baby - HALO SleepSack Review & Giveaway

Becoming a mother was one of the happiest and scariest days of my life.  My dream had finally come true, I was a Mommy.  But, was I going to do everything right?  One of my biggest fears was safe sleeping for my new baby.

I had heard (and feared) all of the horror stories of babies not making it through the night!  I would wake up several times a night just to check on my baby!  My kids are now 8 and 11, and I'll admit that I still check on them during the night.  I was also worried about my baby getting too hot or too cold during the night, but I didn't want to put a blanket in there for fear of them getting it stuck over their face.

The HALO SleepSack wearable blanket helps babies (and parents) sleep better. It's a warm, cuddly blanket they can't kick off, ensuring baby sleeps soundly throughout the night. And when baby is sleeping safe and sound, moms and dads can rest easy too.

HALO SleepSacks are super soft, and allow babies to move freely and sleep peacefully.

Every year SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome) claims the lives of thousands of babies in the United States.  It’s important to learn all you can to help reduce your baby’s risk.

Safe Sleep Tips for Baby:

  • Back to sleep: Place baby to sleep on his or her back at naptime and at bedtime
  • Never dress your baby too warmly for sleeping
  • Keep room temperature 68-72 degrees Fahrenheit
  • Use a crib that meets current safety standards with a firm mattress and sheets that fits snuggly
  • Remove all soft bedding and toys from your baby’s sleep area (this includes loose blankets, bumpers, pillows and positioners)
  • The American Academy of Pediatrics suggests using a wearable blanket (such as the HALO SleepSack) instead of loose blankets to keep your baby warm

I've always wondered why there was so much room on the bottom, but it sounds like it promotes growth and hip development

I think it's cool that hospitals are using these. I think the most important thing is NEVER sleep with your baby in bed with you. Thanks for the cute giveaway!

In their safe sleep tips section, it mentions to breastfeed, if possible, but when finished, put your baby back to sleep in his or her separate safe sleep area alongside your bed.
