Skincare Secrets That Won’t Break the Bank

Beautiful skin comes from taking good care of your health and your skin. This does not need to be a costly and time consuming endeavor. Skin care needs to be consistent to be effective. Fortunately, excellent beauty treatments that once required a visit to a licensed aesthetician or dermatologist are now available in at-home formulas.

The four essentials of skin care are exfoliate, cleans, hydrate, and protect. Visiting a spa is a lovely way to spend a Sunday afternoon. Special facials and skin treatments should be reserved for these visits. Your essential skin care should be done at home where you can maintain a consistent regimen. There are a dizzying array of facial cleansers and moisturizer readily available at any drug or department store. Additionally, you need to exfoliate frequently, and a great way to do that is to keep up a regimen of microdermabrasion, which once was a pricey salon or spa treatment. However, you can also perform regular microdermabrasion at home. A variety of microdermabrasion kits and products can be found by visiting online retailers like ShopNBC.

When dead skin cells cling to the surface of the skin the block moisturizer which then sit on top of the dead skin and their effectiveness is minimal. Regular exfoliation sloughs away those dead skin cells leaving fresh new skin that is ready to receive your moisturizer. Please don’t stop at just using moisturizer twice daily! Hydrating the skin is a two-step process. Drinking plenty of water is also a must.

Finally, protect your skin. Use a broad spectrum sunscreen every day no matter what the season or whether. Check your moisturizer to ensure that it contains a minimum 15 SPF sunscreen. If you have a fair complexion, you may opt for a higher SPF. Regardless of what you do to keep your skin looking great on the cheap, prevention costs much less than correction!

  1. Thanks for all of the skin care information. I must admit I am terrible about staying with a skin care routine. I do try to always use sunscreen to protect myself.
