Frugal Summer Craft Idea: Pinecone Bird Feeders

We have more than our fair share of pinecones in our yard, they seem to be never-ending!  My kids have always enjoyed making pinecone bird feeders. I thought the kids would make one or two each but they ended up making a total of 10! They were having so much fun that they didn't want to stop! Not only did the kids have a blast, but they were so easy for them to make! I gave them each a spoon and they got busy.

Here's how to make a pinecone bird feeder

Take a pinecone and cover it with peanut butter, then roll it in bird seed. Tie a string around the top of the pinecone and hang it. Simple, easy, done!

Let's add the peanut butter

WOW, look at them now

Have you ever made a pinecone bird feeder with your child?

  3. They are so adorable making those! FYI - for those with a peanut allergy, other nut butters work too!
