How to Find the Perfect Health Insurance Plan

As the cost of healthcare continues to rise, more and more people are faced with a very difficult decision, paying for health insurance or not having it at all.  Luckily my family rarely gets sick or needs to visit the doctor, but you can't predict the future, and you never know what might happen.

Finding the perfect health insurance for your specific needs and situation will make the world of difference when it comes time to paying your monthly premiums and paying for out-of-pocket medical services.

Here are a few things to keep in mind when looking for the perfect health insurance plan:

Be clear about your specific health insurance needs.  Are you single, married, or have children?   If you don't have children, will you be having children in the future?  These things are going to help determine what type of coverage you are going to need.

Do you have a pre-existing medical condition?  Unfortunately some insurance companies might deny your coverage or charge you higher premiums.

Are prescriptions covered?  Some health insurance plans cover your medications and prescriptions while others don't.   Don't just assume one way or the other.

Check their network.  Is your current doctor on their approved list?  Will you have yo change your primary care physician?

Consider your options!  Don't go with the first health insurance plan you come across.  This is a decision that is going to impact you in several ways.  Be sure that you do your research, ask questions, and review the pros and cons of multiple plans.

The key is to find a plan with the coverage you need at a price you can afford.  By asking questions, doing your research, and shopping around, you will be able to make a good choice and avoid some common traps.

It's easy to get started.  Simply click here to make a health insurance comparison and see what plan is best for you!

Thankfully we have great insurance through my husband's retire job....no need to look right now.

These are great tips. I have been looking for a policy lately, especially with the fines that will be handed out on next years' taxes.

We've been knee-deep in health forms lately. All the changing laws and plans require a lot of work to sort through. It's nice that there's an option for someone else to do the legwork in comparing plans!
