But First, Coffee!

I think we can all admit that 2020 has been full of ups and downs and learning to "go with the flow" has been very important. One way my family was able to make the most out of our summer was by frequently enjoying Silverwood and Boulder Beach! The four of us enjoyed several family days, my husband and I enjoyed a few dates, my girlfriends and I had a mom's day and my daughter and I enjoyed several mom/daughter days! 

On one our mom/daughter trips, we decided to make it "extra sweet" and did something we had never done before... we went to the Victorian Coffee House! We have walked past it a thousand times but had never went in. It was time!

Anyone that knows me, or follows me on social media, knows that I am a coffee freak!  I'm so much of a coffee addict, that I even have a little "side gig" that involves happy coffee!  Coffee is life! 

I have always thought that the Victorian Coffee House was super cute and that I would love to have a house like that. It is pink, has an amazing porch and the yard and flowers are spectacular.  When you enter, it instantly takes you back in time!  And the smell... they even roast their own coffee beans!

Their menu offers the perfect beverage for everyone! From hot, iced and blended cappuccinos, lattes and mochas... to chai tea and breves... to real fruit smoothies and Italian sodas.  They also have bottled water and pop.  Oh, and don't worry, they also have drip coffee if that's more your style.

It was a super hot day, so my daughter and I both decided to enjoy one of their blended coffees.  My daughter chose the mocha and I got the caramel. Both of them were absolutely delicious! Blended to perfection and topped with whip cream!

 With Christmas right around the corner, it's time to start thinking about gift ideas and keeping those traditions and memories alive.  One tradition that I remember growing up that I have kept going with my own children, is gifting a new book!  The gift of reading gives the child so much more than "just a book!"  It's a gift of adventure, imagination and learning!

I was recently given the opportunity to review and read Holiday Heist and I will say that it is darling!  Claris is simply adorable and the illustrations are bright, colorful and very detailed!  Super cute, super fun, super chic!  Any little girl on your holiday gift list would adore this book!

Are You Ready for a Coffee Break?

COFFEE... coffee makes me HAPPY!  I love coffee so much that I have a happy coffee side gig that has literally changed my life!  YES... coffee is life!  So, it won't come as a shock that I had to choose a coffee gift basket as part of my latest review!

One of the things that I like best about gift baskets, is that they make the perfect gift for any occasion.  A few ideas are for housewarming, hostess gift, birthdays, anniversaries, graduations, Thanksgiving and of course, Christmas!  With a variety of gift baskets perfect for every occasion, the only dilemma is going to be which gift basket you're going to choose.

Mom's Day Out at Silverwood Theme Park

When was the last time you went out with your friends for a Mom's Day?  No kids interrupting your conversation, no phone calls to answer, no meals to make, no mess to clean up... just fun, relaxing adult conversation?

Well, that's exactly what some of my girlfriends and I did a couple weeks ago! We went to Silverwood and had such an amazingly fun day, without our kiddos!  Trust me when I sat that theme parks aren't just for kids. You get to act like a kid, without the kids! 

We met at the front gate at 11 am, we wanted to get in as much girl time as we possibly could. We went with no time frame of when we were going to leave, so the entire day was ours! What would we do with a day free of all of our Mom duties? We ended up making the most of it and spent 8 1/2 hours between the theme park and the waterpark!

Date Night at Boulder Beach Waterpark (Plus Ticket Giveaway)

My family has been enjoying Silverwood Theme Park every summer for the past 19 years, but this is the first summer EVER that my husband and I decided to go without the kids! WAIT! WHAT??  No kids, just us... for a DATE NIGHT! Some of you may be thinking, date night?  YES!! Trust me when I say that we had such a great time and that everyone should have a date night at Silverwood at least once!

Since we had never experienced the park without kids, we weren't sure what to expect. Would it be fun without them? Would we be bored and ready to go home quickly?  Let me just say that we had a great time and have gone back just the two of us a few times since our first date!

Our date started off relaxing in the lazy river.  We each grabbed a tube, kicked back and enjoyed the float.  We have both said many times that we could just sit and float the lazy river all day long and be perfectly content and happy.  I always seem to be the one that ends up going under the water spouts, but it's all good! We enjoy everything about it... including people watching and the music. 

Shark Week "Fin-Tastic" National Geographic Kids Book Collection (Review & Giveaway)

I believe that the love of reading begins at a very early age.  I read to both of my children while I was pregnant and have always encouraged them to look at books and read, even as toddlers.  Books let their imaginations run free and take them to places unknown.  Books also fill their minds with knowledge and facts that will fuel them for life!

Growing up, I remember reading and looking through my Dad's National Geographic books and I was always amazed at how interesting they were.  When my kids were young, I was introduced to National Geographic Kids books and instantly fell in love!  Now that my kids are older, I love gifting books to my nieces and nephews. Books make the perfect gift!

My daughter has been obsessed with sharks for years and can tell you just about anything you want to know about them!  She is my shark girl and Shark Week is going to be the only thing we're watching this week!

Budget Friendly Tips: Silverwood Theme Park & Boulder Beach Water Park (Plus Giveaway)

Summer is all about having fun, spending time outdoors, and creating family memories that will last a lifetime.  One of our family's favorite summer activities is going to Silverwood Theme Park and Boulder Beach Water Park, located in beautiful North Idaho!  Our kids are 19 and 16, and we have been making memories at Silverwood as a family since our oldest was just 4 months old!  Our adventures have changed a bit over the years, but our love for going hasn't!
